Enhancements in Chat

We’ve been working hard to upgrade the chat experience, and we’re excited to share what’s new.

Now, when you chat with Dovetail, you’ll notice a new advanced reasoning state. Chat walks you through its thinking process step by step including doing any keyword or semantic searches, and showing useful information before arriving at a final answer. This makes the complex reasoning happening behind the scenes easier to follow, giving you greater visibility into how answers are formed.

When you ask a question, Chat briefly enters this reasoning flow: identifying relevant sources, searching across your workspace, and structuring a reliable response. You can also refer back to these thinking messages at the end of the generated answer as well as in the chat history.

Whether you're after a high-level summary, or digging into specifics, you’ll get more accurate, trustworthy answers, and confidence that they’re all grounded in your data.
