We’re excited to introduce the Dovetail community—a first-of-its-kind marketplace for you to exchange and learn different approaches to uncover customer insights.
With scattered tools and sensitive PII, research findings can be hard to share, leaving many people who want to be closer to their customer wondering where to start and how best to proceed.
The Dovetail community is an open marketplace where methodologies, ideas, projects, and taxonomies can be exchanged across organizations and individuals. We’re democratizing research knowledge and empowering anyone who wants to better understand their customers to have the confidence that they are doing so in the best possible way.
You can rely on the community to launch straight into your next project with confidence. Using tried and tested methods from top researchers and teams, choose from over 100 project templates and tag boards, then remix them to suit your needs.
Project templates include everything you need to fast-track your project setup. Choose a template to suit your needs, from product feedback to sales calls. Just add data and get analyzing.
Tag boards act as starter packs for a tagging taxonomy—get started with a set of tags for your use case, from creating persona tags to market segmentation tags. Add them to any project and start tagging.
Continue to learn with the support of your community. As you find and explore how different teams tackle understanding their customers, you’ll level up your approach. As the community grows, you’ll be able to experiment and learn alongside teams like Kickstarter, Maze, Sprig, and the Dovetail team. While it’s still early days, here are some of the things we’ve learned from our community so far.
To start, look how easy it is to connect themes across NPS, in-product feedback, and more with the product feedback template.
Or how using canvas to map different stages of activation is a breeze with Kickstarter’s customer engagement template.
We also learned how charts can take survey analysis to the next level with the NPS response analysis template.
And how Maze’s unmoderated usability testing template makes using fields to slice up data by browser, language, and more look easy.
We learned how to differentiate the behavioral patterns of users and non-users with the creating personas tag board.
And finally, we saw how to group tags to identify areas of improvement, pains, and themes with Sprig's CSAT tag board.
The community isn’t just a place to explore and try templates. It’s an opportunity for you to contribute your own approach, elevate your team, and grow research as a whole. Share your project templates and tag boards to put your approach, team, and organization on a global stage. Together, we’re building a community that’s contributing to the future of research—and we want you to be a part of it!
This is just the beginning. As more people use and share templates, the community will continue to grow. Meanwhile, we're exploring new types of templates and content, so stay tuned for updates. Visit the Dovetail community and join the conversation in our Slack user group.
